Discovering the Universe with Nicole Stott

Discovering the Universe with Nicole Stott

In 2021, Amanda completed a set of discovery-themed pieces ranging from the Mars rovers to dinosaurs to the Mariana Trench to children playing with fireflies. Besides allowing Amanda to embrace her love for space, this project also facilitated a connection between Amanda and ISS astronaut Nicole Stott, on whom one of Amanda's paintings was based. Nicole's work can be found on npsdiscovery.com

"Thank you Amanda for finding something in my story that inspired you to create this beautiful and thoughtful artwork!"

Nicole Stott, a 59-year-old woman with brown hair in a ponytail and glasses, takes a selfie beaming and holding two prints of paintings. The first is a warped view of Earth and the International Space Station reflected in an astronaut helmet. The second is an abstract swirl that separates an ocean scene with a diver and a space scene with an astronaut waving at Earth. Behind Nicole is a colorfully decorated space suit with a reflective gold visor.
